Current High Priority Projects
Canvas is an online learning platform, from a Utah based company called Instructure. http://www.instructure.com/k-12 This year, Canyons School District, is providing all secondary teachers and students access to the Canvas learning platform. Canvas is a great way to introduce and utilize a blended learning environment. Blended learning combines face-to-face classroom instruction with online activities. At first glance, the introduction of Canvas in the the learning environment is similar to having a class webpage with resources and other course materials for students to access. However, Canvas includes many other features, such as assignment submission, discussions, and collaborative projects. For our Canvas Fast Track course visit www.canyonsdistrict.org/canvasfasttrack.
Google Apps for Canyons
Every Kindergarten through 12th grader will have a csddocs.org Google account. Google Docs are excellent tools for students and teachers to collaborate with each other and for students to submit their work electronically. This project works hand-in-hand with Chromebooks.
